Aunnoy K Mutasim
Aunnoy has completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Computer Science from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in the years 2014 and 2017 respectively. He is currently working as a Junior Lecturer at the same department since 2015. Prior to joining IUB he has worked as an Intern at Infosys Ltd., Mysore, India. Aunnoy has worked on Natural Language Processing, Mobile Application Development, Machine Learning and Brain Computer Interfaces (BCIs). At CVC, he is currently working in two research projects, 1. Detection and Recognition of Vehicle Number Plates registered in Bangladesh using Deep Learning approaches and 2. A BCI based Video Recommender System using Wireless EEG signals.
Mohammad Raihanul Bashar
Raihan works in the area of Machine Learning. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Independent University, Bangladesh. His work with CVC involves Brain Machine Interface (BMI) projects and device integration tasks. He is currently working with EEG data classification. The goal of this project is to gather data and understand user’s behaviour (consumer’s buying and student’s learning) using data fusion and machine learning in collecting data from two different data source like 3D camera and EEG device. At CVC, he has built Android apps (Java) and worked on machine learning experiments (MATLAB & Python).
Mir Noor Ul Haque Pias
Pias works in the area of Computer Vision. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Independent University, Bangladesh. At CVC, he has worked on Detection of Number Plates of Bangladeshi Vehicles. He is currently working on the Character Recognition module for the Number Plate Recognition System of Bangladeshi Vehicles. His interests lies in the areas of Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
Rayhan Sardar Tipu
Tipu works in the area of Machine Learning and Robotics. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Independent University, Bangladesh. Currently, he is working on mine detection robot and object distance measurement using Microprocessor and Raspberry Pi. Also, he is involved with Brain Computer Interface projects at CVC involving Machine Learning and Robotics. At CVC, he has built Android apps (Java) and worked on machine learning experiments (MATLAB & Python).
Md Rakibul Alam
Rakib has graduated from dept. of computer science and engineering, Independent University, Bangladesh in the year 2012. He is currently working as a junior lecturer at the same department. He is an industry certified JAVA programmer. Prior to joining IUB, he has worked as freelance web developer for an US based company. Rakib has keenness for interdisciplinary research which involves research and development of solutions that directly affects the society. His current research interests are machine learning, big data analytics, recommender systems, and educational data mining and large scale database systems. His works with the computer vision and cybernetics are annotating retina fundus images for teaching-learning diabetic retinopathy software and an egovernance system that collects and visualize rural development data to help speeding up the decision process with accuracy and confidence.
Motiur Rahman works in the area of Machine Learning. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from North South University. He has worked on Image processing, Data mining and Machine learning. His work with CVC involves Recognizing Bangladeshi Currency and Support System using Kinect and Mobile phone for Daily activity for visually impaired.
Mridul Khan works in the area of Machine Learning. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from North South University. He has worked on Brain Machine Interfaces, Human Activity Recognition, Spatial Data Mining and Accelerometer-based Gesture Recognition. His work with CVC involves Brain Machine Interface (BMI) projects and device integration tasks. The BMI work attempts to recognize perceptual and cognitive states from EEG data. Md. S. Q. Zulkar Nine
Md. S. Q. Zulkar Nine is pursuing his MS in Computer Science and Engineering from the EECS department of North South University. He completed his BS in Computer Science and Engineering from MIST, Bangladesh in 2009. He has worked to investigate the area of supplier selection and has established a new approach using fuzzy theory that outperforms existing state of art approaches. He is currently working with Dr. M. Ashraful Amin in medical image processing. The primary research goal is to find out a novel approach to efficiently detect diabetic retinopathy using fundus image. He's also working to develop a Bengali OCR. His research interest includes intelligent system design, medical image processing, and fuzzy systems.
Mahmood Kazi Mohammed
Mahmood Kazi Mohammed is pursuing his M.B.B.S from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is currently working as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. M. Ashraful Amin, PhD at Computer Vision and Cybernetics Research Group. His current research work involves retinal image processing for retinal disease diagnosis. The primary research aim is to develop & perfect an efficient technique of detecting diabetic retinopathy & its stages using color fundus images. His first research poster was accepted in the category of ‘Bioinformatics of Health and Disease’ in the International Society of Computational Biology Conference ‘ISMB 2012’ in Long Beach, CA, USA. He was an Elsevier Student Ambassador for the year 2012 in the Asia-Pacific region. He is employed as a research officer in an NGO. His areas of interest in research are computational biology, biomedical instrumentation, medical physics etc.
Bruce Poon received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science & Pure Mathematics and B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia in 1983 and 1985 respectively. He obtained his MBA ( High Honours ) in International Finance & Business from Oklahoma City University, USA in 1991. He is currently working as a consultant for Computer Network & Electrical Engineering especially on Power Engineering and Renewable Energy.
Since 1991, he has been serving in the IEEE New South Wales (NSW) Section committee to promote IT and Electrical & Electronics Engineering to academics as well as industries. He is an active member of the IEEE Computer Society, IEEE System, Man and Cybernetics (SMC) society and member of the organising committee in several IEEE conferences in Australia.
As member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) & Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) and senior member of Australian Computer Society (ACS) & The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), he is now pursuing doctoral studies in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney and has co-operative research with the Computer Vision & Cybernetics Research Group. His research interests include facial recognition and biometrics.
Iqbal Nouyed completed his B.Sc. in Computer Science in 2005 from the School of Engineering and Computer Science of Independent University, Bangladesh. He worked in the software industry for a few years and then returned to his alma mater and finished his M.Sc. in Computer Science in 2012 with high academic achievements. He is now working as a research assistant under supervision of Dr. M. Ashraful Amin at Computer Vision and Cybernetics Research Group. He is a graduate student member of IEEE. His current research work involves biologically-inspired visual pattern recognition.
M Islamuddin Ahmed
Islamuddin has completed his MS in Computer Science from North South University, Dhaka with a perfect 4.0 GPA and Vice Chancellor's Gold medal. He has been working on retinal images and his contributions have been published in well-reputed journals. He is also a hobby poet.
Saami graduated from North South University in 2012. He has been working on license plate identification for Bangladeshi vehicles. His undergrad thesis was on Script Identification from Images. He is interested in the problem of selecting an ideal feature set from a large set of features.

Anoti has graduated summa cum laude from North South Univerity in 2012. She has a well round knowledge on different aspects of image processing, computer vision and artificial intelligence. She is currently working on license plate identification for Bangladeshi vehicles.
Akram has graduated summa cum laude from North South University in 2012. His research lies in an interesting overlap of image processing and machine learning. He was successfully worked on multi-channel snake based single line road extraction. He also takes interest in investigating artificial neural networks and their underlying mechanism.
Ehtesham's work involves Microsoft Kinect. Ridwan and he have been working on a navigational aid system for visually impaired individuals. This work relates closely to augmented reality. Ehtesham graduated summa cum laude from North South University in 2012.
Ridwan is an avid programmer, problem solver and researcher. His exceptional programming skills allow him to quickly test new ideas and solutions. He has been working with Ehtesham on augmented reality to help visually impaired people navigate on a daily life basis.
Iftakhar Hasan completed his BS in Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering from North South University in 2011, and is currently working in operations, research, and development section at Enosis Solutions. His academic research and publications (including Springer Journal on Signal, Image, and Video Processing) are based on human iris recognition for biometric authentication. Outside his work, he is a sketch artist, animator, and web developer.
Adnan has worked on Dermatological Disease Diagnosis using Color Skin Images. He is a pioneer in data mining and fuzzy systems, and has also worked successfully on audio processing. Much of his work is already published in well reputed journals. Additionally, he is interested in journalism and pursues it actively. Adnan graduated summa cum laude from North South University in 2011.
Md Shamsul Arifin
Arifin graduated from North South University in 2011. He has been working with Adnan on Dermatological Disease Diagnosis using Color Skin Images - a unique project on its own. He has worked successfully on audio and signal processing previously, too. He is good with electronic hardware and can quickly build prototypes.
Sheikh Faisal Miskhat
Faisal has graduated from North South University in 2012. His research interest is on signal and audio processing. His undergraduate thesis was on Language Identification from Audio. He has also worked on problems involving image processing, such as facial expression recognition.
Jahid has many talents. He invests his research talents in computer vision and machine learning. He has succesfully developed a human tracking and surveillance system.
Toukir is currently working on gesture recognition from hand movement, using Microsoft Kinect. He has graduated from North South University in 2012.
